2011 Joint Stockman's Convention
Once again, we had the honor of providing the dance music following the banquet and awards recognition at the New Mexico Joint Stockman’s Convention held at the Marriot Pyramid in Albuquerque on December 3, 2011. Congratulations to Bob Ricklefs, named the “2012 Cattleman of the Year”. Bob is the General Manager of the Philmont Boys Ranch south of Cimarron.
We had a major storm blow into the state during the weekend that brought wind, snow and freezing temperatures. We were a bit apprehensive about Bucky, Dee and Ty driving from Glenwood to Albuquerque on Saturday but Bucky is an old hand at driving in bad weather and they made it with no problems.
The West Camp Crew was in top form mainly due to the dancing crowd we played for. One thing for certain, ranchers and cowboys enjoy a good dance. All had a great time and we are looking forward to the 2012 Joint Stockman’s Annual Convention.
