The Delk Band

Grau Ranch Cowboy Dance

Folks came out of the mostly dry ranch county (some areas are getting rain (TTL) and are now green) in eastern New Mexico to see and visit their neighbors and enjoy another Grau Ranch-sponsored trip into "yester-year" when a barn dance was a common occurance. This was a return to those days when neighbors took time to be neighborly and gather to enjoy each other's company and take pleasure in dancing to tunes played so you could dance to 'em.

The Delk Band's Neal and Joe Delk with help from Tommy Williams on bass, Ronnie Fouts on piano, Garrett Goodson on drums, Gary Beavers on pedal steel guitar, and Chek "the Ripster" Rippee on fiddle (arguably) had the most fun of all in attendance because of the joy it is to play for dancers having a good time.

Thank you to Wesley and Elnabeth Grau, your children and your grandchildren for making it possible for country folks to return and reflect to a great period in our history and for the young folks to have the chance to experience a bit of that history. And thank you for allowing us to be a part of it all.
