2013 Easter Men's Breakfast

The Easter Men’s Breakfast, traditionally held on the Saturday morning before Easter Sunday and always on the point of a hill somewhere on the Boone Ranch east of Elida, NM, was held this morning. What a glorious morning it was . . . a slight breeze out of the southwest, temps in the high forties and an estimated 400 plus men of all ages who came to enjoy a wonderful eggs and pork chop breakfast, Christian fellowship and to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Music for the breakfast was provided by Neal and Byron Delk, Chek Rippee, Robert Flowers with a little guidance from Papa Joe Delk. Following the welcome from Pat Boone, Neal and the guys performed several gospel songs including “Are You Washed in the Blood”, “Blessed Be Thy Name”, “The Old Rugged Cross”, “Long Black Train” and a special song from Chek entitled “Yes I Know”.

Pat brought his brother-in-law, Gary Good, to the podium to deliver the message. In Gary’s own and special way, he reminded us that just as our land is now so thirsty for a drink of water to rejuvenate it and bring it to life, might we, as Christian men, not have a thirst for Jesus Christ to guide us in our walk along the path of righteousness.

Gary’s message was followed by a special song he had asked Neal to perform called “The Well”. What a great and fitting song it was. The service was concluded with a twin fiddle version of “Amazing Grace” played by Joe and Chek and everyone enjoyed more fellowship before returning home to get ready for Easter Sunday Services.
