Cowboys For Cancer Research Dinner,
Dance and Silent Auction 2011
The 2011 Cowboys For Cancer Research (C4CR) Dinner, Dance and Silent Auction was held at the new Las Cruces Convention Center on Friday, October 7th. This year’s event was sold out and over 700 supporters of C4CR (www.cowboysforcancerresearch.org) were in attendance.
The Delk Band was once again honored to play for the dance at this great event. A large segment of the crowd came to dance and dance they did. The large dance floor was full almost every dance.
I want to thank Dan Bishop for helping us with the music this year. We welcome Dan and his wife Cathy as is the newest addition to our family of musicians. And don’t forget Roy Garcia. Roy is not only a great steel guitar man but a great friend. Go by Johnston’s Hardware in Las Cruces and say hi to Roy.
We take our hats off to the C4CR committee. What a tremendous job they do each and every year to assure that Cowboys For Cancer Research fundraising activities allow them to retain the position as the largest and most significant contributing organization to the University of New Mexico Cancer Research & Treatment Center in Albuquerque, NM.
